Monday, 13 December 2021 - Wednesday, 15 December 2021
e-AGE21, the conference’s 11th edition, was held virtually
during 13-15 December 2021. “Live Digital e-AGE” allowed attendees to have a
fully live and comprehensive individual experience, with the ability to learn,
network, and engage like never before.
The e-AGE21 conference, themed “e-Infrastructure for Science and Beyond,” featured over 50 distinguished speakers and experts from across the global research, education, and science communities. The conference discussed issues on research and education infrastructures, NRENs developments and challenges, science cooperation, open science and open access, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate actions, and earth observation.
e-AGE21, with the participation of more than 110 representatives from 44 countries, served as the forum to share practices and experiences in openness to facilitate sharing of resources in science, research, and education in the unprecedented isolation of today. NRENs and e-Infrastructures provided essential means to stay connected and to meet the new challenges of research and education, while openness facilitated collaboration and seamless access.
The high-level opening session on December 13th included ministers of higher education and scientific research, and distinguished speakers, focusing on policy messages and high-level discussions on supporting regional and national efforts towards developing R&E infrastructures and services, including science cooperation to achieve the UN SDGs.
